Anthony discovered a passion for software development while studying Computing at University, and it's guided his career ever since. Joining Oracle in 2005 as a graduate, and being exposed to a wide range of Oracle technologies, discovering APEX was an epiphany. His eyes were opened and he dove in: building APEX apps, learning about APEX, blogging about APEX, attending APEX events, and connecting with the awesome APEX community. He was all-in! In APEX, Anthony found the tool he'd been looking for, allowing him to focus on building apps around data, and not be distracted by unnecessary complexity. So when the opportunity came to join the APEX team in 2008, he grabbed it with both hands.
In recent years, Anthony has become laser-focused on accessibility, making sure Oracle customers, and their customers, have equal access to APEX apps, regardless of ability or disability. That means fostering a spirit of inclusion and empathy in everything the team does, and going beyond baseline compliance to build a product that is truly usable by all. Anthony is proud of the progress the team have made, and in the AI-era and the potential this holds for advancing tooling and Assistive Technology faster than ever, even more excited for the future.
Anthony feels privileged to contribute to a product he believes in, and to see the impact it's had on customers, and the broader community. Outside work, Anthony most enjoys time with family, walking the dog, and perfecting his coffee game.
