Sonali is passionate about building software products that delight Oracle customers. She has been at Oracle since 1998 and helped develop enterprise-ready SaaS applications in the Human Capital Management, Sales and Service, Systems Management and AI domains.
When she first joined the APEX team she was thrilled by the very warm welcome given by the APEX team members. In APEX, her work focuses on enabling Oracle Fusion Applications extensions software development utilizing APEX.
One of her favorite memories at Oracle is when she had the opportunity to volunteer as a coach for Oracle Education Foundation’s "Internet of Things" class. Working with the high school students from Design Tech High School brought back memories of learning digital circuit design from celebrated VLSI design professor Dr Mary Jane Irwin who has always been a source of inspiration for her. Dr Mary Jane Irwin was an advocate for simple, elegant and performant design and APEX is an application development platform that delivers on all counts.
Low code development in APEX enables pattern based and agile application development that lets businesses iterate very quickly to get to the final solution. Developing business flows often involves integrating multiple discrete systems. Data security and privacy concerns are paramount. She is very committed to secure application development practices. APEX supports single sign-on for Oracle Fusion Application extensions with APEX. It also supports different authentication mechanisms such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) and OpenID Connect thereby simplifying systems integration challenges.
With the advent of AI and the industry transforming to incorporate AI into business flows, she is very excited about the work we are doing in APEX to support Generative AI based application development. She is looking forward to connecting with the APEX developer community to help bring about AI centric transformations.
