Interface tables enable you to bring information into the Hyperion schema through database operations (SQL loads or leveraging of Hyperion data integration products). Interface tables provide a database interface that enables the import of metadata and data from external systems into the Dimension Library. After information is stored in interface tables, you can use the standard mapping and load mechanisms provided within data synchronization to bring the information into Planning. You can use interface tables for data loads when you do not want to pre-format text files for flat-file loads, but you want the power and flexibility of a relational database for bringing information into Planning.
